A Texas Music Documentary

This is part of a documentary series that I worked on as a photographer, videographer and social media strategist. On the show we went behind the scenes & follow Texas-based singer-songwriters living the Troubadour life.

In this segment of The Premiere we introduce some of the troubadours: the singer/songwriters that the series follows as it explores the challenges and the rewards of trying to make it as a performer. The various troubadours discuss the passions that have led them to perform and where they expect the journey to take them. Industry experts are also interviewed and share their thoughts on how to make it in the music industry.

Troubadours featured in this segment includes Melissa Greener, Tom Prasada Rao, Jack Ingram, and Little Brave.

I miss these shoots with Deb, Travis, Major, and Mack. We covered thousands of miles over five years and I learned more from each of them than they'll ever know.

A note to my fellow internet content creators: one particularly interesting element of this documentary is the gear we used. For all the content I shot during the production of this documentary, I used a mish-mash of consumer level cameras from GoPros to Canon DSLRs, Point & Shoots to Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. You can see all the current gear I use here: https://searchsocialco.com/gear

The primary camera I used on this shoot was a Canon 7D DSLR - look at this episode and tell me what you think about the overall production quality of this piece with the 7D mixed into shots from several other videographers who shot with pro Sony cameras and Canon C100/C300's.
